2000 BMW 528 Water temperature low

Water temp gauge has been registering low temps for about two weeks now. Temp does not go above 1/4 barely above blue area most of the time. I usually drive 20-30 minutes at a time everyday.

Inspect and test the engine coolant temperature sender gauge/switch or replace it-could also be the guage itself out of calibration

It could also be a broken thermostat.

Hey Doc-I forgot to mention the coolant blocker could be stuck open not maintaining the engine temp. therefore the CTS is reading cold and givng that info to the temp. gauge.
