Need to replace the serpentine belt on my 1998 BMW 528i. I am pretty handy with cars and have replace belts before but never on this BMW. Could you guide me through the steps and any special tools needed?

Thank You

Drue31, There are tools required to remove the fan, a thin 36mm open end and a holding tool for the water pump pulley and it is a left hand thread so turn to the right to loosen, then you can get a better shot at the belts. The tensioner can be unloaded by popping off the plastic caps from the center of the tensioner pulley and using a Torx driver, turn it to the right to compress the tensioner. The bolt could also have a 16mm hex head, it depends on the range of production.
