1997 BMW 528 transmission fluid

1997 BMW 528 V8 Two Wheel Drive 12800 miles

How do I check my transission fluid? I can't seem to find dip stick for this if there is one. I have looked under the hood and can find eveythng but that. the manual doesn't show anything regarding transmission in the under the hood diagram.

No dipstick. There is a plug on the side of the transmission, it uses an Allen screw head. Check with the engine running.
