1997 BMW 528 rear windows

Both of my rear windows will go down but will not
go back up. I can lift them up manually but the
not with the motor. Once down when I push the
button there is a click but no movement. How can
I remove the door panels to check on this?

There are screws coming in from the armrest and from behind the wood trim, ease the trim off and when released the panel can be pulled loose by starting at the bottom with a plastic wedge and pop the plastic anchors out, then an upwards tug will release the panel, being careful not to pull too hard, but it does take some force and a practiced hand, good luck. Care must be taken when removing the vapor barrier as well, it is easily ripped.
