The Airconditioner in the car works well for a time then stops working especiaally if the car is idealing in traffic.i went to a mechanic and he said that the freon is good but the presurreis too highwhen he connected the lines with the meter.also he said that the fan does not come on in the frontof the radiator although there is pwer to the fan.He does not know the problem and i need to go to the dealer.Please help.

if you have power and ground at the fan then you need to replace it. this would cause both your problems

On the 1997 E-39 there was a bulletin for replacement of the fan and may be possibly be a recall. Call the dealer and see if there was one for your car and this issue with the fan.
