To Whom it May Concern:

My car pops out of first gear when I hit on the accelerator and makes a loud "boom" like sound. I am sure it is not good for the car.

It doesnt do this all the time. I have to make a concious effort to push the clutch all the way down. I sometimes have to double pump the clutch and then I can feel it engaging.

I hope this is not a problem with my transmission.
What do you think it is?

Thanks in Advance for you Help

The first gear detent is toast or it might have a slightly bent shift fork and may require replacement of the tranny. Call my supplier for stuff like this at (619)444-2290 Talk to John or Sean and tell them Dr. Hagerty sent you. I avoid repairing these trannies because of the special tooling required.
