What should I expect to pay for a rebuilt transmission and have it installed in my 93 BMW 525i?

A remanufactured transmission from BMW is $2500. The time to install is 5.6 hours according to BMW warranty time. You might find a cheaper transmission, but you should consider spending the extra $ now if you intend to keep the car, the dealer price is worth it in the long run because it is practically guarantees a trouble free transmission for another 168k miles, or more if you follow a preventive maintenance program and your time is too valuable to waste with a questionable transmission installation, don't you agree?
