within the last two days my trans program light comes on. My car car gets loud when trying to accelarate and does not get much power. Will replacing the TCU Transmission computer resolve this problem?

You are close, but no, replacement of the EGS is unnecessary, replace the chip (EPROM) and it will be a distinct possibility that the issue will be gone. The numbers on the outside of the EGS (transmission control module) will dictate the proper chip.
