My brake sensor light came on and said that I needed to "check my brake linings". When I took the car in and had it checked they said that my front brake pads needed to be replaced and that when you replace the pads you also have to replace the rotors; is this true? My husband, who knows a little about cars said that they took advantge of me because I didn't know any better. The brakes still had about 5% pad left and weren't squeaking at all. Did I have to replace the rotors or did I get lied to?
