1993 BMW 525 Intermittent electrical problem

When it is cold, my electric door locks, power windows, power sun roof, interior lights and wipers do not work. Was told by a BMW mechanic that we could "try" changing two electronic modules at $450 each and see if that fixes the problem. Would like better diagnosis before spending that kind of money.

all these circuits are grounded at G203 ground connector behind the right hand kick panel ... check this for damage/loose etc.

There was also a bulletin for early production cars that related to the general and relay modules that are under the rear seat. The solder joints at the circuit board that are "cold" and need to be retouched with a hot iron and some solder.
