My '92 BMW 525i is not starting properly, i insert the key (which is difficult now, suddenly) and i turn it to start ignition and nothing happens! only the onboard computer turns on along with the radio. the key is very hard to pull out, all of this happened out of the blue when i arrived home i found i couldnt turn off the car by turning the key, it was stuck in there so i had to stall it to get it out.

any advice or suggestions would be great!

You are definitely need to replace the lock housing, it is possible the tumbler and new keys will be required too however, I cannot see the keys to help you with that determination. 32-32-1-161-551 is the part# for the lock housing and the tumbler and keys will need to be special ordered from the central letter shop from BMW if needed. The installation procedure is complicated and is best performed by skilled BMW knowledgeable technicians (such as myself)
