Electrical system shut down. No interior lights, windows, radio, wipers, but ignition, lights and dash display info are intact. Thought it was a fuse issue, as the system seemed to reset itself upon starting the car, but now it is completely shut down. I'm a single girl on a budget and don't know where to turn. Living in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The problem is the fusible link next to the battery that feeds the rear E-box has shattered due to age and will require replacement. If the battery is under the hood, follow the positive battery cable, there should be two, one large and one small, follow the small one, and there is a black plastic cigar shaped container than houses the link. It is an 80 amp fusible link and can be replaced. If the battery is under the rear seat, the same search method applies, follow the small cable and the link is there inside the little plastic housing. Part# 61-13-1-382-065. If you want you can use a piece of wire to temporarily replace the link but I stress this is temporary, please replace it with the correct part straight away. ♥
