Warranty repair by BMW is free, let them fix it.

It's a 2001 i365, so no warranty. That was a pretty poor reply, don't you think????

Do you need advice? I am glad to give it if you are sure of what you are asking. What light is flashing on and off? If it is a 2001 and not a 2007 then the warranty isn't going to help. You state the car is a 2001 i365, BMW never made an i365.

325i coupe. Alternator was replaced 3 mos. ago. Situation happened intermittently and then progressively got worse. Reason year/model is off was because it's a neighbor's car and I didn't have that information. I figured it was a general questions which would apply to all makes and models.

If the Xenon lamps care what we are talking about, then there are three things to check. The lamp itself, the ignitor or the module. If intermittant, I would start with the bulb.
