2002 bmw 330i, there is a rattling noise around the top of the engine when engine still cold then when it warms up, there is a slight burning smell, almost the same problem with other person in the forum and the answer was to change out CYCLONE SEPARATOR, if this is in fact the problem, where is the cyclone separator? what does it looks like? and is it easy to change? pls help.

The part you seek is #11-61-7-501-566 and can be seen in an exploded view @ Realoem.com. I also recommend replacement of the associated plastic pipes due to age and thermal cycling, they break when you dont want them to, have replacements standing by. It is not easy to do the valve replacement, if you attempt it, leave a whole day for it to be complete.
