Would like to know if you can tell me the location of the output speed sensor. Is it in the transmission fluid pan or is it located on the outside so it can be changed easily. The trans is the GM version for this model year. The car is in fail-safe because of this sensor and can not be driven .

They are inside the oil pan. The pan will require removal to access the sensors, and I would recommend capturing the oil for reuse and of course replacement of the pan gasket will be required. The oil is special, be sure to use the correct oil as the wrong type will cause trouble.
