1999 BMW 328 Mode Selection Switch

The Mode Selection Button located on the Turn Signal Lever does not change the Dash Display. Currently the Outside Tempurature is displayed and can be changed from C to F. However pressing the Button in Key positions one or two does not change the display. What could possibly be the root cause of the non working switch.

FYI: In key position 0 and pressing the left instrument button Time is displayed.

There was a model change in 1999 and I will require the last seven characters of the vehicle identification number to be sure I know what the issue might be, please repost with the requested data.

Thank you for the response. The E-46 body style uses several CAN-BUS systems to convey information, the instrument cluster utilizes what is called a K-Bus and this seems like a low voltage condition on the K-Bus. This I have also seen as an internal fault in the instrument cluster.
