the sunroof wind deflector won't drop down far enough for the sunroof to clear it and close, it stops when it butts up against the wind deflector that stays up just a fraction to high when closing

E-36 model sunroof issues are usually dealt with by replacement of the entire sunroof cassette due to the lack of availability of replacement parts from BMW.
