You will need to use an OBD-II diagnostic scanner to delete the trouble codes stored, which will in turn remove the check engine lamp. Most auto part stores will do this for free if you ask them to. Before having this done, ask the auto part store associate to retrieve the trouble code(s) for you as well. Post the code(s) here and I can assist you with the problem and most likely save you a lot of time and money instead of taking to a dealer.
