2006 BMW 325 water pump

I have a 2006 325ia only 2 1/2 yrs old never have had any problems till now..the water tempature light keeps comming on..bmw service says the wate pump has seized up..now its $2100.00 to replace and change the thermostate and expansion tank..is this unusual for a bmw this new..I just had a service on the car 30days ago and all was fine..??

2100 does seem high for a water pump and expansion tank, have you a price breakdown? Parts and labor.
