Hi--I was told by a BMW mechanic that I needed to replace my tensioners (car making a high whining sound). How imperative is this---he quoted me $800.00 to replace because he said they don't make the 2002 tensioners anymore and needs to upgrade.
Can I put this off, or should I get it done at a cheaper place?
Thanks so much

Turn the radio up, buy earplugs, roll up the window. You can fore go this little 800 buck repair and let the guy who quoted it know you are not coming back. The part is at Realoem.com, go see for yourself.
