On the way home from work tonight my car almost quit on me 3 times. Once while driving about 35 mph, the other two were once I had stopped at a stop sign and then proceeded again. Once I got home, I got nervous and took it back out on the road and it seems fine now. It was acting like it was out of gas. Could it be cheap gas? I'm going to fill up tomorrow with Super Unleaded - I have 1/4 tank in it now. Other times it would totally stall and I'd have to pull over and restart it and all would be fine. That didn't happen to often but tonight was the first night that it has acted crazy. It was like it was out of gas. Heeeellllllpppppp! Thanks.

It could be a fuel pump beginning to fail. You may need to seek out a BMW pro to assist you on this. The pump is on the right side under the rear seat, you need to remove the big screw top thing.

I went to my local import garage and made an appointment for Monday - he said it might a "coil spring" or "coil something" which is on top of my spark plugs. One of them might've gone bad and it's causing my car to misfire. He said it was a common problem with BMWs. Could he be onto something? Does this sound legit? Thanks for the advice.

Yes he is correct and there is a recall from BMW on this, you have too many miles to be accepted for this and the coils are very easily replaced. It should not take more than one hour to diagnose and repair the issue.
