1st thing..what a great website...bless you for all you do!!

2002 BMW 325i w/60K miles; basic 6 cylinder engine (184 HP).

Airconditioner not holding charge (freon); had it charged twice by two different mechanics and whether I use the airconditioner or not the freon is gone in a day or two.

Both mechanics put a dye into the engine but have not been able to detect a leak in the system.

Not a repeat problem that I am aware of; bought it used last fall.

Thank you for your help!!

Basically the dye will locate leaks on the components of the A/C system but a leak of that proportion has to be blowing out VERY quickly. It is something that is leaking so fast that I would almost suspect that someone could hear it; not me as my hearing is terrible. Have you checked thoroughly the system to include that radiator that cools the A/C system?

Mr Bruce, thank you for your prompt reply! I have noticed the system laboring differently than usual. The question I have is, if I noticed this, then a cert. mechanic should be able to pick it up also?

Additionally, if the radiator is errant would the interior temp cooling gauge rise?

Thank you once again!
