2001 BMW 325 6 cyl Manual 230k miles

Im thinking about buying a 2001 bmw 325i that has 230k miles on it. My question is how long do bmw engines last and would this be a good buy or not?

Mileage is not the only factor, and 230k could be gentle or rough miles. As a whole, the E-46 is a great car, it is sometimes high maintenance. If the car passes a pre-purchase inspection, by all means, get the car.
