Interior problem
2001 BMW 325 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 93000+ miles

The shade on the sunroof no longer works unless the sunroof is open. Would like to disengage it and have it open even when the roof is closed. I like sunlight even during the dull winter months.

This occured in the previous 318IS that I owned. Appears to be a constant issue.

Would love it if there was an easy fix.

Thanks much,
Cincinnati, Ohio

The plastic side runners are broken and in order to fix this you will need to remove the sunroof itself, there are three Torx screws on each side, then remove the lid and you can then access the shield. It is held by the 4 small Torx screws on the left side and slides in the right side. Get the broken parts out of the way and get a sunroof repair kit and install it in opposite order of removal. repost if more help is needed.
