My trunk will unlock with a key and with my alarm but it will not open. There is no manual release latch that I can see. How do I open it. It is a 325i convertible. I desperately need to get in the trunk. I took the seats out and there is only the small opening for skis. How do I get this open myself. Someone has got to know the answer to this. I have called the dealerships and they all want up to $300 for a diagnosis. I need an answer. Please help.

Thank you,

Don T.

This might have something to do with a switch adjustment and/or replacement. Have you attempted this with the top stowed or closed? Does the convertible top operate normally? The switch is for confirmation that the cover for the top is closed. The interlock is supposed to suppress access to the trunk if the "lid closed" signal from that switch is not realized. Let me know if this is helpful.
