I have a 1994 BMW 325is which recently stopped running i took steps like any other mechanic would do to narrow it down to the main problem which was was fuel pump went bad so i replaced it to found out that there is no power coming from the connector on top of the fuel pump which i believe powers the fuel pump it self to pump the fuel through the lines. I checked the voltage from both the fuel pump fuse and relay and i found out that there is a short or something between the fuse/relay and the fuel pump itself. Im trying to find a wire diagram for the fuel pump to help me locate the wiring easily but having trouble finding one, im really surprised the manual dont have a wire diagram for the problem. Any help as far as getting a wire diagram for the fuel pump would be grately appreciated. Its for a 1994 BMW 325is 2dr

What repair manual do you have? The power wire to the fuel pump is a green wire with a purple stripe and it goes from the fuel pump relay directly to the fuel pump. If you don't have power at the fuel pump but you do have power at the fuel pump relay, then it is an open, not a short. That wire runs through the body harness and has no interruptions. I would consider inspecting the body harness for damage. Check for continuity at both ends of that wire. Consider a temporary jumper from the relay to the pump to be sure the issue is in the harness. Lastly, I recommend the manual from Bentley publications for your car, they can be obtained from Amazon. Com
