1993 BMW 325 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 183k miles
so i fixed most of the problems on the 325i got it running perfectly fine and all lights goin and everything working fine until i was pulling into my driveway from my friends house and i turned the key to the acc i had the music turned up so i couldnt hear the engine was still running i put it into 1st (since my driveway has a pretty steep hill) and the car stalled out. it took about 5 minutes to get the key out and when i tried turning it on there was no resistance and the key goes 180 degrees but the on position has resistance but sometimes it stays on and i have to wiggle it for awhile to get it to shut off. i checked the igniton switch and that works fine turns the car on but the steering wheel stays locked i took a long look and realized the brass piece on the ignition switch pops out when i have it connected and then the key just turns about 110 degrees wtihout resistance. When I dont have the ignition switch installed and just use a screw driver to start the car the brass piece does not pop out but the car starts just fine and everything works except the 12v lighter. the end of the tumbler the piece that actually spins the ignition switch doesnt pop back into the right place and it doesnt turn far enough any DIY fix's?? the pictures are of the ignition switch and the shaft that goes in the ignition switch
