What is causing the car to load up on gas once the car is crank and shut off in order to re crank the car i must hold the gas in order for it to crank back up. Then it loads up and shoots black smoke out the tail pipe

possibilities include wiring issues, leaking injectors, or control module issues. The 85 318 is known for bad engine wiring harnesses, look for shorting at the harness where it is tied to the fuel rail.
