I just got my 1986 BMW 325 out of the garage where I had a new starter and a tuneup done. The mechanis installed a new idle control valve but my engine constantly keeps revving up and down, never stops. This mechanic told me I need a new altitude adjustment valve to correct my idling problem but I just read where this valve has no control over your idle. Can anyone assist me in determining what my REAL problem may be. I just want the idle control fixed. It continues revving up and down whether I'm idling in the driveway or driving down the streed.

There is an idle control module that is above the glove box that controls the valve, it will need replacement. Part # 13-41-1-286-133. Go to Realoem.com and check your price.
