Electric Trunk lid opener ( both key buttons as well as interior console button) stopped functioning at same time. Checked fuses (2 of them), and checked valet switch on trunk key cylinder. All are OK. Also bought a new trunk lid actuator to replace existing one. Still does not work! Trunk can only be opened with key (mechanically). Other door locks all work OK from keys and interior open / lock button.

Is there anything else in the system that can be the problem beside the actuator, fuses and the valet switch?

There is a wiring loom at the right hinge, pull back the accordion boot and inspect the loom. If that passes muster then the next thing is the general module may need repair/replacement.

You are correct. After a bit more investigation, I discovered several broken wires in the accordion boot and after repairing them, the trunk lid works OK. However, now the backup lights don't work (!) so I suspect there are some more wires to fix. Thanks. AP
