Hi
I have noticed a tappet ticking type sound at idle and low rev's when the car is hot, but not aparent when cold?
Had the car for a month and not noticed this problem previously,
Any ideas what this might be?

You have correctly identified the noise, it is most likely a tappet (or cam follower) Try changing the oil, that might make it go away.
