2004 BMW 320 Oil leak and engine light on

2004 BMW 320 Automatic 84000 miles

I have bmw 3.20 2004, noticed oil going down every week near bottom of the dip stick. Drives fine, but now the service engine light came on. Looks like a little engine, yellow light. Car does not seem to be leaking oil. Can they be related in anyway. Thanks.

Perhaps it will require replacement of the oil level sender to stop the light from coming on.
