Engine Cooling problem
2002 BMW 320 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi,
i recently imported a 318i 2002 model. However I noticed it was overheating and after check up we discoverd the thermal fan speed was very low. We changed the fan clutch and the fan speed improved. When the car is idling the engine teparature is on average of 114-116 degrees which is normal. However when I drive the car it goes up to 120-125 degrees and then falls again. The pattern is repeated throughout the drive esp in traffic. Is this normal and safe? Is the fan getting late to kick in and cool the car soon enough? What could be the problem and solution?

Operating temperature should be around 185. Your engine is running cool. Need to inspect thermostat to ensure it is not stuck open letting too much coolant through.
