Engine Performance problem
1983 BMW 320 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I recently inherited this vehicle and began performing serious overhaul. I finished the intake cleaning and gasket replacement, but now there are two nipples that I am unsure what the attach to. The two connections are on the underside of the intake manifold on the driver's side. What do these attach to?

Vacuum advance/retard at the distributor or to a vacuum amplifier, there is a vacuum nipple at the crank breather too. A 1983 318 is quite an inheritance, sort of like a white elephant, if you know what I mean.
