I have a 91 bmw 318 IConvertible; 5 speed; 137k;4cyl;
Noticed murkiness on dipstick and engine oil cap;
Assumed it was a head gasket.
Someone suggested could be a "c" head seal?
Is that possible and how can I tell?

Possibly a failed gasket.I would perform a cooling system pressure test first to see if coolant is getting into the oil or the cylinders.
