The RHS wishbone on the front suspension needs to be replaced. This is apparently quite a common fault with the E46 3 series BMW. The BMW dealer has quoted a small fortune for replacement. There are a number of Companies who sell the wishbone complete with the bearing, joint and holder for less than a quarter of the BMW quotes price.
Does this replacement job need special tools or is it something a fairly competent DIY guy can do?

Many thanks
Geoff.

ITS EASY MATE ALL YOU NEED IS A TORGUE WRENCH AND CHECK YOUR MANUAL FOR SETTINGS I'M LORRY DRIVER AND MY SON DONE HIS JUST REMEMBER WHEN TAKING THE NUTS OF THE BEARING YOU NEED TO KEEP THE WEIGHT ON SO TRY AND PUT A JACK ON THE UNDER SIDE OF THE BALL JOINT AND LIFT IT SLIGHTLY AND IT MAKES LIFE EASIER TO TIE THE SPRING UP TO STOP IT FLOPPING AROUND.
