Engine Performance problem
2001 BMW 318 Two Wheel Drive Manual 96000 miles

I recently had my car M.O.T.d ,for the past week each time i start the car my oil light comes on and stays on for about 15seconds. I have checked the oil level when the engine is cold and it is just below the max level. Have a light coloured driveway and there are no oil markings on it. Any ideas what the problem could be?

This is a typical failure of the oil level sensor/lamp control module coding and there is a bulletin on it from BMW. Replacement of the oil level sensor is usually enough to remedy the issue, or you could just ignore it, I would.
