2001 BMW 318 3 lights on dash board

Last week 3 lights appeared on my dashboard at the same time. The ABS light, the Traction Control light and and brake warning light. I looked up my user manual and it said that when these 3 lights come on together, it means there is an internal failure in the system and that I will have to carry it to BMW Service to investigate the problem. But a couple of hours later the 3 lights went off and my ABS and traction control were working perfectely again - until today! The 3 lights are back on again. I really dont want to pay bmw big money to do something really simple to the car! Help?
