First I thought the knock was a timing chain noise. Replace chain tensioner and guides. This did not help. Next, replaced cam followers thinking it was valve clearance noise. This did not help either. Now I'm thinking rod knock and considering pulling the engine and rebuilding or buying a used engine.
Any other ideas on what the knock could be before I do this?

Thanks,
Randy

Hi there,

I would have a oil pressure test done , use a master gauge, this will give a true indication as to oil pressure, if pressure is well down you may be looking at a bearing failure.
