1998 BMW 318

I got an instrument panal signal, it was a red trangle that was illuminated. it was located in the lower middle of the dash. Then it went out. Any idea what it meant??

It means the car is going to blow up in 10, 9, 8, 7...... Are you running? Just kidding. It is the icon for the dynamic stability control which is linked to the anti-lock brake system. It will illuminate when the system is engaged due to a loss of traction or when there is a fault in the system.
