OK I HAVE A 1996 318I BMW AND I THINK THE FUELPUMP IS GONE OUT MY QUESTION IS CAN I GET TO IT BY PULLING THE BACK SEAT OUT AER DO I NEED TO DROP THE TANK.

The pump is accessed from the back seat, you don't drop the tank. It is on the right side of the car, the left one is a sending unit and siphon jet pump and does not require removal.
