1996 BMW 318 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a BMW1996 318i and I can´t open the driver door from outside. The handle Looks OK and moves right but don´t open door. what can I do?

The door lock assembly is faulty and will most likely require replacement, part #51-21-8-122-417.
