WHILE STARTING ENGINE FROM A COLD STATE, THE ENGINE CRANKS FOR A SECOND AND STALLS.IT WILL NOT STAY RUNNING. I REPLACE THE AIR AND FUEL FILTEi. I HAD SPARKS PLUGS REPLACE BY BMW DEALERS. PROBLEM STOP FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS. PROBLEM STARTED BACK. THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP THE ENGINE RUNNING WHILE STARTING IS BY PLACING FEET ON GAS PEDAL FOR MORE GAS FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND SLOWLY IDLE DOWN ENGINE BY LIFTING FEET OF GAS PEDAL AFTER DOING ALL OF THIS , IT STAYS RUNNING . IT IDLES AROUND 800 RPMS. WHAT IS THE PROBLM?

Sounds like the crankcase vent valve is bad. P/N 11-15-7-501-567. It is on top of the intake manifold and the two screws holding it are accessible from the engine compartment without removing the entire manifold.
