I understand I need to use Steering Fluid for my 318i transmission. What type do you recommend?

Where exactly is the cap that I place the fluid in?

Dexron III is recommended for the transmission in your car. The early cars might of had a dipstick, if not then the correct procedure requires the car to be level and the temperature of the tranny fluid to be within 30° to 50° centigrade and the filler plug is on the right side of the tranny, above the pan and towards the rear. Use an Allen wrench to remove it. Do the level check with the motor running in park or neutral ♥♥
