1992 BMW 318 Two Wheel Drive Manual 182000 miles

i have a bmw 318is i have replaced the timing guide renewed the spark plugs renewed the battery ot the firing order correct checked the carb to see if any petrol was coming through turn the car over and flames shot out of the carb there is spark at the plugs what could cause this

Incorrect timing can cause this, recheck you timing marks.
