Engine Performance problem
1992 BMW 318 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual
----------------------------------------------------------------
Hi. I recently bought a '92 BMW 318I, not sure of the mileage since the odometer doesn't work. (I only paid $700!) I was told that it was going to need a fuel pump and a mass air flow meter. I don't have the money to do anything right now, but lately it has been chugging alot. When I take off, it almost acts like it loses power and wants to stall out. Shifting into each gear does the same thing until I finally get up to 5th gear speed and then it runs smooth. I bought a Haynes manual and if it is the air flow meter that I need, I'm sure I can do it myself. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Joni ****VIN # WBABA7315NEJ12318
