Engine problem

hi i just got a bmw 3181 and got 20 mils from where i got it and not these a problem with it? it started of by just the od pall back and then it startd to do it more, i was told to give it a bit of a rev might be something in pipe but th problem still there now im having trouble with starting it? seems like its not firing right, like when u put ur foot down wonts to pall back and cut out
wor could be the problem?
