Hi,
My BMW E30 has developed a case of lifter tick over the past 12 months. I understand briefly what cuases this but I'm not sure what it will cost for a mechanic to fix?

Also, would you suggest that this be attempted at home?

Thanks,
Jacob

I would attempt an oil additive first, there are several on the market. The operation will require a jig for the camshafts, perhaps it is not a good idea to attempt it at home.
