A yellow light showing an engine symbol has appeared on the dashboard - it is a solid light not a flashing light - can you advise on what might be causing this

The check engine light can be commanded on for several reasons. A loose fuel cap, a sensor showing a plausibility fault, or some emissions related issue. A sczn of the car from the OBDII port is in order.
