Hi Dillon,
I have tried several of those temporary fixes and more often than not it is a waste of money and makes the actual repair you will ultimately end op doing harder and messier. With that $100.00 you can likely buy the whole gasket set required to perform the repair.
If you are experiencing a coolant leak and/or a little white smoke it would be worthwhile to look into the intake manifold gaskets as a root cause. The 3.8 engine is notorious for intakes leaking coolant to the inside of the intake and to the exterior of the engine. The plastic intake plenum and the upper and lower intake gaskets should be replaced if you find that your problem is just a coolant leak.
Here is a guide for coolant in the oil:

Here is a basic guide for intake replacement on a different model:

I have included some images here that are for your specific vehicle.
If you do decide to replace theses parts there are some other small components that will need to be removed to access the intake like a small bracket around the EGR valve and the fuel rail/injector assembly.
Please let me know if this helps.
Cheers,
Joe
